FRESHMAN PLACEMENT TEST

We know that choosing the right high school is a big step & we are here to help answer any questions you have! We welcome all 8th graders considering Althoff Catholic to apply for admission & take the placement test. If you are not ready to apply, you can take the test before applying. Just pay a $25 testing fee.

TESTING DATES FOR 2026-27 FRESHMEN:
  • Sunday, December 7, 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, January 14, 3:30 p.m.

7th GRADE PRACTICE PLACEMENT TEST

Althoff Catholic offers 7th graders the opportunity to take the HSPT placement test in the spring of their 7th-grade year—giving students a valuable head start before the real exam in 8th grade.

Taking the practice test helps students:

  • Reduce test-day anxiety by becoming familiar with the format, pacing, and style of questions.
  • Identify academic strengths and areas for growth early, so families have time to prepare before the official 8th-grade test.
  • Build confidence through real testing experience in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
  • Experience Althoff Catholic firsthand, meet staff, and become more comfortable with the high school transition.

This year’s practice test will be held on March 20, 2026 at 3:30 p.m.
The cost is $25 and can be paid in advance of the testing date.

This early preparation gives students a meaningful advantage and helps ensure they feel ready, confident, and set up for success when it truly counts. Sign up with the form at the bottom of the page.

FALL OPEN HOUSE

2026 TBD

We invite all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, along with transfer students, to our Open House! This is a great opportunity to meet our students and teachers, tour the campus, and get your questions answered.

The event follows a structured schedule, so please plan to arrive between 12:30 p.m. and 12:55 p.m. for check-in. The program will last about 2 ½ hours. To reserve your spot, simply complete the form at the bottom of this page.

Come discover what it means to be a Crusader!
