Seniors:  Just a reminder if you are attending Prom, the doors open at 7:00 p.m and dinner is at 7:30 p.m.  Prom Court will be around 9:15 p.m. and your parents are invited to come to take pictures.  The Prom ends at 10:00 p.m. following by the after-prom.  After-prom party doors open at 11:30 p.m.

 

Seniors:  If your parents have purchased you an out of uniform pass, those can be used next week.

Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors:  Your out of uniform pass can be used the week of May 9th.

If your parents would still like to purchase you a pass, tell them to please check their emails today.

 

CAAD & THEOLOGY CLUB: 

There will be a CAAD and Theology Club meeting tomorrow, Friday, April 22, at 7:45 am in room 110.  All are welcome.

 

Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors:

If you would like to run for Student Council next year, please pick up a form in the main office or during your lunch hour in the cafeteria.  Your form must be signed by all of your teachers and returned to the office on MONDAY MORNING.

Softball and underclass baseball is canceled for tonight.

Students:  In honor of this year's Gala, there will be a raffle for a chance to win a Car Themed Basket!  This basket has all the car essentials and even things like Free Arby's for a Year, a $50.00 gas gift card, and a free student parking spot of your choice for next school year.  Miss Barrett will be selling raffle tickets this week during both lunch hours.  The cost is $1.00 per ticket or $10.00 for 15 tickets.

Teachers passed out photo sheets to the spring athletes today.  Wednesday, before school, pictures will be taken of the spring sports teams.  Please have this form with you and have the parent information on the sheet properly filled out, along with a check.  Students check with your coaches for the time of the photo.

Come out and support the boys' volleyball team today as they take on Belleville East here at Althoff.  JV starts at 4:30 with Varsity immediately following.  The first 20 Althoff Catholic students that come through the door will have a chance to win a $25.00 Smoothie King gift card.  The winner will be announced between the first and second sets of the Varsity match.  You must be present to win!  After the match, you can head out to the field to support the girls soccer team as they take on Freeburg at 6:30 pm.

National Honor Society Junior Applicants:  your NHS Application due date has been extended to April 1, 2022.  The Application must be submitted to Mrs. McCracken by 3:00 pm. ON APRIL 1ST!

Theology Club and CAAD Club:  We will have a joint meeting this Friday, March 25, at 7:45 am in room 110.  There will be a variety of breakfast foods served.  Please join us!

Out of Uniform Day:  Tomorrow is an out of uniform day.  We are supporting the Catholic Relief Services marked for the Ukranian relief effort.  If you would like to dress out-of-uniform tomorrow, 3/22, please bring $1.00.  Students will be collecting the $1.00 as you enter the school lobby in the morning.  Thank you for your support.

Students:  tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day.  Everyone is allowed to wear a green top, but MUST WEAR UNIFORM BOTTOMS.

We extend a warm invitation to all Grandparents of our students for the annual Grandparents' Day celebration:

Wednesday, March 9th for Grandparents of Freshmen and Sophomores

Wednesday, March 16th for Grandparents of Juniors and Seniors.

Both celebrations will follow the same schedule:

9:30 am:  Doors open.  Reception with grandchildren will be in Heritage Hall (coffee/juice will be provided)

9:45 am:  Welcome by Althoff Administration

10:15-11:15 am:  Mass with the entire school at St. Henry Church.  (***Note:  There will be enough time to fast before receiving communion).

No RSVP is required for these celebrations. Heritage Hall and St. Henry's Church are easily accessible for wheelchairs/walkers.

TENNIS:  Any boy interested in playing tennis this season, there will be a tennis meeting tonight after school from    3:15 -3:45 pm in the cafeteria.

The Althoff Catholic Track and Field program  has begun and the team will compete at their first meet on March 12th. Any boy or girl interested, come out for practice Monday through Friday starting at 3:30 pm. If you want to hear more about the upcoming season and their workouts plus what they have in store for you, please see Coach Sanders at a practice. All boys and girls are welcome!”

There will be a softball meeting after school in the Athletic Office next Monday, 1/31, for anyone interested in playing softball.

If anyone is interested in starting an Environmental Organization at Althoff, there will be a short informational meeting at 7:45 am on Tuesday morning, 2/1, in Mr. Woesthaus' room (3rd floor).

Interested in showcasing your talents?  Join the First Annual Althoff Gong Show!  All students and staff are welcome to participate.  Auditions by video submission to Mr. Schlich by next Wednesday, January 26.  Acts to last no longer than 6 minutes, including set up time.  All are welcome to audition, but not all will perform, so bring your "A game"!!!

Congratulations to Jaidyn Blair for advancing to the Sectional competition as an individual.  He will bowl tomorrow, January 22nd at Bowl Haven Lanes in Alton for a chance to advance to the State Tournament.

Math team will meet on Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. in room 105 (Mrs. Stock's) room.

The band and choir will be performing their Small Ensemble Christmas Concert this Sunday starting at 12:00 noon in Heritage Hall.  Please come out and support the band and choir!

Christmas Ball tickets will be on said today and tomorrow during the lunch period in the cafeteria.  The cost of a ticket is $10.00.  Guest forms for the Christmas Ball Dance are due tomorrow at 3:05 pm.  Please turned in your signed forms to the Main Office.

Student Council:  Please remember to bring in 1 dozen cookies tomorrow for Christmas Ball.  Please take the cookies to Mrs. Schumacher's Office on Friday morning.  Please put your name on the container.

CEO is having a Bake Sale tomorrow, Friday, during lunch hours.

Come out and support the Band and Choir this weekend.  They will be performing their Small Ensemble Christmas Concert this Sunday, December 12th, starting at 12 noon in Heritage Hall. 

Christmas Ball tickets are on sale during the lunch periods in the cafeteria.  The cost is $10.00.

Scholar Bowl is moved to room 316 tonight.

Any girl wanting to play soccer this year, there will be an informational meeting in room 208 after school tomorrow, Wednesday, December 8, 2021.  If you cannot make the meeting, please see Mrs. Wuller in the Athletic Office.

Please support our alumni, Shelby Sandhinrich Braxmeier and Andrew Braxmeier, Class of 2010.  Their son, Ford, was born prematurely on July 11, 2020.  There will be a fundraiser:  Holiday Hilltop 5K/Walk and 1/2 Mile Fun Run/Walk Run to benefit Ford.  Please check out the website at www.holidayhilltop.org for more detailed information about the event.  We would love for our Althoff family to consider bidding on a silent auction item(s) or run in the race, or simply donate to show our support for this family.

NHS is sponsoring an "out of uniform" day tomorrow, Friday, December 3rd for a donation of $2.00.  The donation will be collected at the door as students enter the building by the Main Office.  The NHS has adopted a family for Christmas to help them with their daily needs.  If you wish not to donate, you can wear your regular uniform or spirit wear top and uniform bottom.  THANK YOU.

As an additional sidenote to the Math Team season results:  Xander DiGiovanni had the highest total points earned in our division, and 2nd highest total points earned across all of the divisions in the competition at all grade levels.

Filak Krzysztof had the 2nd highest total points in our division.  Way to go Mathletes!

Student Council:  There will be a Student Council meeting tomorrow morning, Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 7:43 am in room 209.

This week BASIC will be holding a clothing drive for gently used and new clothing.  Some clothing they are collecting are: 

Hats, Scarves, Gloves, New Socks, Jackets, Coats and Sweaters

Bring your item to 1st period teachers and your name will be put into a drawing to be held during half time at Friday night's Basketball game.  Winners of the raffle will receive Chick fil A gift cards or gas gift cards.

There will be an international students meeting this Wednesday, December 1st at 8:40 am in the Board Room.

Corpus Christi Catholic Church will host the Holiday Hilltop 5K/Walk and 1/2 mile Fun Run/Walk Run to benefit a child battling a life-threatening illness.  The run will be held Saturday, December 11th at 9:00 am.  This year's beneficiary, Ford Kelly Braxmeier, is the son of 2 Althoff graduates:  Shelby (Sandheinrich) Braxmeier and Andrew Braxmeier (Class of 2010).  Proceeds from the event will assist in the Braxmeier family with Ford's past and future medical expenses.  Please check out the website at www.holidayhilltop.org for more detailed information.  We would love to help our Althoff family.  Please consider bidding on a silent auction item or run in the race, or simply donate to the cause.  THANK YOU!

Congratulations to the Varsity Scholar Bowl team for finishing 5th on Saturday at the 2021 Kickoff Tournament.  The team had a 7 and 2 record for the day just missing the championship bracket by one question.  Team top scorers were Xander DiGiovanni with 290 points and Ben Schreder with 260.

Anyone interested in chess, there is a practice tonight in the cafeteria.  If you want to be on the chess team, but cannot attend, please just stop in the cafeteria and let Coach know you cannot attend, but would like to be on the team.  The Chess team will be practicing every Monday after school.

Volunteer Opportunity:  The Chamber has an event at the Skyview Drive-In, "Movies with Santa"  that starts on November 27 and continues on Dec. 4th and Dec. 11th.  The Chamber needs volunteers to help with this event.  It includes handing out candy to the cars and welcoming people.  If you are interested and need more information, please stop by the Main Office.

St. Vincent dePaul:  is having a Food Drive 11/8 - 11/19.  The Food Drive helps our local families in need.  You can bring canned meats, vegetables, noodles, boxes of cereal, instant potatoes, large paper products, hats, gloves and blankets are needed. Each class will earn points and the 1st and 2nd place gets a DONUT PARTY!   If you have any questions, please see Mr. Bouc in Campus Ministry or the Main Office.

Cash Corral:

This is the final week for Crusader Cash Corral raffle ticket sales!  Sales ends on Sunday, October 31st.  The grand prize winner of $5,000.00 will be announced next week.

Students:  Kentucky Fried Chicken is looking for employees on West Main Street for the evening shift.  If interested, please go to Kentucky Fried Chicken and ask for Ms. Hill, or just apply.
