Althoff Catholic High School's mission is to educate young people, in the Catholic tradition, to lead successful, faith-filled lives. This mission is fulfilled through a focus on faith formation, robust academics, and opportunities for spiritual, intellectual, cultural, and physical growth.
Althoff Catholic High School was founded in honor of Bishop Henry J. Althoff (1873-1947) in 1964 to serve the growing Catholic community in the area. The school was established to provide a new, co-ed environment for students from the diocese's grade schools, consolidating previous schools and building on the long history of Catholic education in southwestern Illinois.
Our goal is simple: prepare our students for college and life after graduation. We accomplish this through academic rigor, caring and dedicated faculty, and a nurturing environment that concentrates on finding each student's potential and maximizing their ability. We have a modern approach to education, while staying rooted in the rich tradition of our Catholic faith. Our success is their success!
Still deciding if Althoff Catholic could be a good fit for you? Meet with our admissions office and tour the school. We'll go over academic information and make sure that your questions are answered. We offer in-person individual tours and would love to share information about the school.
We are dedicated to providing a nurturing and challenging environment where every student can thrive. Our admissions process is designed to be straightforward, transparent, and inclusive, ensuring that every family has the information and support they need to make the best decision.
