Scholar Bowl

Scholar bowl is a jeopardy-like game that challenges students' memory and knowledge in the subjects of science, mathematics, english, social studies, arts and entertainment. The team works together to solve problems in a relaxed, yet competitive, setting.  This is the most fun intellectual challenge you will ever experience!  Practices start in October and meets are scheduled from December to March. The Althoff Catholic Scholar Bowl Team competes in the Metro East Quad League, Masonic Academic Challenge, IHSSBCA tournaments and in the IHSA series.

Membership is granted on a tryout basis and a minimum 3.0 GPA is required. Members must make a commitment to participate in weekly practices, matches and tournaments.

By joining the Althoff Scholar Bowl team, you will earn an IHSA scholastic letter. The Scholar bowl team belongs to the MEHL and meet every Tuesday and Thursday, allowing students to participate in other activities.
