The Althoff Catholic High School Science Department along with the Frontiers Science & Technology Club invite you to join us for our first Astronomy Night!
Admission is free and the event is open to current Althoff Catholic students, 6th-8th graders and area professionals interested in hearing our distinguished speakers.
- World Meteor Collection: Meteor samples on loan from places around the globe for viewing.
- Astrobiology- Extremophiles: NASA presents 14 organisms from extreme environments.
Guest Participants River Bend Astronomical Society will have telescopes set up outside for interpretive viewing throughout the evening.
Dr. Francesc Ferrer: Professor of Astro Physics at Washington University in St. Louis. He is also a collaborator at Pierre Auger Observatory and is also a recipient of the Marie Curie Fellowship of European Commission. Will lecture on theoretical cosmology and Astro Particle Physics and its relationship to Milky Way Galaxy.

Dr. Erika Gibb: Professor of Physics & Astronomy at UMSL. She is collaborator with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Rowan University on Comet research. She will lecture on her research of Comets and its relationship to Earth’s biosphere.
