Catholic Identity

" We are called by Jesus Christ to educate young people, in the Catholic tradition, to lead successful faith-filled lives."
- Althoff Catholic High School Mission Statement

We are a high school of the Catholic Diocese of Belleville in Illinois.

At Althoff Catholic High School, all decisions and pursuits are ultimately guided by our identity as a Catholic school, a community of God's people.

Students, teachers and visitors of all faiths and backgrounds are always welcome. Each person's religious beliefs and heritage are respected here.

However, as a Catholic institution, every student and faculty participates in the life and education of the Catholic faith. Also, a variety of events and special programs are available for students and faculty who feel called to greater action in their faith life.

Core Programs:

  • Mass once a week for the entire school
  • Morning Prayer everyday
  • Penance Service twice a year for the entire school
  • Catholic Theology four year course
  • Single-day Retreat every year for Freshmen and Sophomores
  • Overnight Retreat every year for Juniors
  • Service Learning Project every year for Seniors
  • Holy Days & Church Seasons are observed school-wide
