Freshman Admission Process
5 easy steps!
NOTE: This process is for incoming freshman students for the 2018-2019 school year. If you are interested in transferring to Althoff Catholic from another high school, please see the "Transfer Admission Process" tab of our website.
1. Visit Us
Students in the 6th - 8th grades are encouraged to visit Althoff Catholic as a Crusader for a Day.
2. Apply Now
All students wishing to attend Althoff Catholic High School for their freshman year must complete the online application. APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, January 5, 2018.
3. Supplemental Materials
Catholic Grade School Students: Althoff will automatically request 7th and 8th grade grades and test scores for your student.
Non-Catholic School Students: Families must request 7th and 8th grade grades and test scores to be sent to Althoff Catholic before Friday, January 5, 2018.
4. Entrance Exam
Practice Entrance Exam for 7th Graders
We invite 7th grade students who are considering Althoff Catholic High School to take our Practice Entrance Exam. The Practice Entrance Exam offers the opportunity to assess where a student currently stands academically and what they can focus on in their remaining junior high years to better prepare for a college preparatory high school experience. Parents and family are invited to a panel discussion with Principal Harris at 10:00am in Heritage Hall. Following testing we invite parents and students to stick around for Pizza With The Principal!
Entrance Exam for 8th Graders
Any 8th grade student considering Althoff for their freshman year will need to register for the Entrance Exam which takes place on December 2, 2017. Entrance Exam is used in conjunction with 7th and 8th grade grades to determine the most appropriate courses for your student. Parents and family are invited to a panel discussion with Principal Harris at 10:00am in Heritage Hall. Following testing we invite parents and students to stick around for Pizza With The Principal!
St. Thomas Aquinas Academic Excellence Scholarship: This scholarship is a 50% reduction in tuition and is renewable for all four years as long as the student continues to meet the necessary criteria. Students must have maintained an "A" average throughout both 7th and 8th grade years; score in the 95th percentile on the Althoff Catholic High School Extrance Exam, and maintain a minimum of an "A" average each year. Students from Catholic, private, and public schools are eligible for the scholarship. In order to receive this scholarship, the student must enroll at Althoff Catholic High School.

5. Admission Decisions
All admission decisions for the incoming freshman class will be mailed at the end of January 2018.
